I'm Gonna Miss This...

...Hanging Out At The Ball Park!
This past week was our spring break, and with Ryan and I both being teachers, we are very fortunate to also be off with the boys. On our first day of our break, we headed to the ball park to take in a spring training game.

In Arizona, they have the Cactus League for major league baseball. This basically is spring training for many of the MLB teams. Not far from us, is the training facility for the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals. This means that these 2 teams are here for spring training and that this is their home field. On the day that we went, Texas was playing the LA Dodgers.
The boys posing with in front of the Texas offices.

We usually get lawn seats when we go, since they are the cheapest and the boys aren't confined to sitting for the entire game! They were tossing around the ball before the game started! One of the ushers came over and gave them a ball that had been hit into the stands during batting practice. They were so excited!

Watching the Dodgers warm up before the opening pitch

I am gonna miss the day when they decide they would rather hang out at the ball park with friends, rather than mom and dad...so for now I will cherish these days and take them out to the ball game whenever we have the chance!

Friday Funnies

Two Little Boys

After a hardy rainstorm filled all
the potholes in the streets and alleys,
a young mother watched her two little
boys playing in the puddles through her
kitchen window.
The older of the two,
a five year old lad,
grabbed his sibling by
the back of his head and shoved his face
into the water hole.
As the boy recovered and stood laughing
and dripping,
the mother ran to the yard
in a panic.
'Why on earth did you do that
to your little brother?!'
she asked as she shook the older boy in anger.
'We were just playing 'church' mommy,' he said.
'I was just baptizing him...
in the name of the Father,
and the Son and in...
the hole-he-goes,
Amen.'

Could those 2 boys be my little angels you ask....
Heavens No!! (well...maybe!!)

Where's Mom!? 4/52 Photos of Me!

Are you a mom? Are you missing from the pictures? Most moms I know are, and now there is a meme that brings us moms out from behind the lens and puts us in front of the camera! I know it can be scary, but it truly is lots of fun! Carin over at Forever in Blue Jeans set up this wonderful year long meme that does just that~Brings us out from behind the lens and puts us in the spotlight! And the best part is, is that you can start whenever you jump in. For me, this will be my 4th week!

Here is a picture of me and my Colin Boy at his second grade Dr. Seuss night at school. They had lots of fun Dr. Seuss activities to do that included reading, make-n-take crafts, puzzles and so much more! Here we are posing in our Cat in the Hat hats!!

So join this fun meme...Give someone else the camera, say cheese and join the fun!!

Spring Break Girls Day Out!

How lucky am I that I got another girls day out...this time with my friend, and fellow football widow, Dawn. Dawn's husband, Mike, coaches with Ryan; he is the head coach of WCHS and OC (offensive coordinator), while Ryan is the assistant head coach and the DC (defensive coordinator).
Here we are posing before leaving for our kidless outing!
...We ate here...
...before heading here...
...where we saw this...
... and after the movie, we enjoyed this!

We had a great afternoon, with yummy food, good conversation, and great friendship! If you don't have a Pei Wei, it is so yummy. It is the take out version on P.F. Changs which is an Asian Bistro and equally as yummy! The movie, He's Just Not That Into You, was a great chick flick where we laughed and cried and had a great time. After the movie, we headed to The Golden Spoon right next door and had us some yogurt!
What a fun filled, kidless (and husbandless!) afternoon!

Monday...Already?!

So, here we are and it is Monday already...where does the time go?! If you're new to this, and I am sure you are not, this is the easiest, cheapest form of therapy out there! All you have to do is deny everything you have done this past week, it's fun and free! Here is what I did, oh I mean, did not do this past week...

It was not me who did not post a 'Not Me!' Monday last week. I am a much better committed, blogger than that. I always do this meme, so why would I not do it? Because it wasn't me, I tell ya!

It certainly was not me who posted an i heart faces post last Tuesday and didn't link up. What kind of blogger posts about a contest, proceeds to write the post WITH a picture and then not link up? As I stated earlier, I am committed blogger. Geesh!

It was not me who laughed my butt off when my hubby fell over backwards of our nice, big, comfy bowl chair when he sat down to play video games. It did not take me over 5 minutes to regain my composure. I am a much better wife than that. I do not laugh at my husband for any reason and I surly asked if he was ok...really I DID!

It was not me who, later in the week, sat down in the same said bowl chair, and fall backwards out of it. It MUST be broken!!

It was not me who called and yelled at my hubby for forgetting the Tupperware he was supposed to take to school and pass out to all of the coaches' wives. I did not then proceed to drive to his school to drop off said Tupperware, only to find that I had NOT left home with out it!! I have a much better memory than that. I did not have to drive back home to get said Tupperware so that he could pass it out before spring break. Really...

And it definitely was not me who thought "wow, this is such a 'Not Me' moment" as I was driving home to get the stupid said Tupperware! And to think I actually remembered to write about it!!

Well, I think that that is enough to let go for the moment! I hope you got your laughs for the week!! I know I did NOT as I was writing...:P

For more fun with 'Not Me!' Monday, be sure to check out MckMama!

Until next Monday...it wasn't me, I swear!

2...4...6...8...Who Do We Appreciate?

Coaches!!
Yesterday was the last of the 2009 winter basketball season.
Both boys had their final game and received a medal for participation.

Colin with his coaches from the Green Monsters.

Brendan with his coaches from the Blue Lightning

Brendan sporting his medal

We are very fortunate to live in a city that has a fantastic youth sports program. They run sports all year long and all of the coaches are volunteers. The volunteers are usually a dad and/or mom of one of the players, but I am so thankful that they do come out and volunteer to coach. Unfortunately with Ryan's coaching schedule and my lack of coaching abilities, we are unable to coach, so I give a shout out to all of those that do take the time to step up with their time and knowledge!

So... basketball season is over...but don't get to excited...baseball season starts tomorrow!!

We've Got Spirit, Yes We Do...We've Got Spirit, How 'Bout You?

So this past week, our school had 2 cool things going on. The first was Read Across which celebrates Dr. Seuss' birthday and the second was our school's spirit week!!
Here are some of the things that happened this past week...
Decade Monday!
Remember the 80's?!

Twin Tuesday!

This is Brendan and his friend Mitchell dressed in their favorite color!

Here is Crystal and me, dressed as twins. Crystal is the kindergarten teacher in the room next to me! All the kids thought it was hysterical that we were dressed alike!
Colin & Coach B, dressed as twins!
Wacky Tacky Wednesday!
School Spirit Thursday!
Dr. Seuss Friday!
Here is Crystal reading The Cat in the Hat to both of our kindergarten classes. After the story we watched the cartoon and then took a tour of the school to look at all the classroom doors for the decorating contest. To see my classroom door, go here! We decorated it as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and it came in 2nd place for the contest!
So Who's Got More Spirit!?!
WE'VE GOT MORE!!!!

i heart faces ~ Messy

i heart faces is this fantastic photography blogsite that offers contests each week in different categories. I love taking pictures, especially of my kids and their faces, so this is a perfect site for me to showcase my talent (if you want to call it that!!) Anywho, this week's theme is ' Messy' and this is my photo trying to capture just that!

Here is a picture of Colin after licking the beaters from a cake that was being made!

I really need to learn how to use my scanner, cuz I have the best pics of the boys eating their 1st birthday cakes! Oh well, since I am not sure how to do it, and Ryan is in bed, this is as messy as it gets!!
So check it out at i heart faces and post a photo, who knows, it might be good enough to win!
Wish me luck and I'll wish the same back to you!!

Nannie Update....

Thanks to all of my wonderful bloggy sisters for your wonderful thoughts and prayers. Nannie is doing much better. For those of you that don't know what happened to Nannie, check out this post for an update! She is becoming quite feisty and has ripped her IV out several times, as well as threatened to walk home!! She will be taken off some of her heart meds by tomorrow morning (3/2) and then they will monitor her heart. If all goes well and it stays stable, then she will not need a pace maker and that is our hope. She will hopefully be out of the cardiac unit tomorrow and moved to a regular room and if all goes well, she will be home by the end of the week. So once again, thanks for stepping up; Nannie, the family and I appreciate it so much!

As I was driving home tonight, I looked up and saw this. My first thought was God is so good; that he was kissing us good night. So I leave this beautiful picture and my sincere thanks with you tonight.
