Diary of a Baseball Mom...

Because I was here...

...I was not here and I missed the first half of the boys game...{sad face}
...and how very sad that I missed it because what I missed was Brendan's pitching debut...and of course I had the camera so Ryan wasn't even able to take pictures...{another sad face}
...so by the time I DID get there they were just in the field...

...although I was able to snap a few pics of them batting and running...

...and in the dugout!

...and because it was such a long day...this was dinner!

Game 3: Indians 19 Astros 11; Brendan 2 innings pitched, 4 Ks, 1 unearned run, got the W; Colin was 1-1, single, rbi, 3 runs scored. Team Record 3-0, 1st place and tonight will be game 4...let's go INDIANS!

To be continued...

Where's Mom?! 51/52 Photos of ME!

Forever In Blue Jeans

Are YOU a mom? Are YOU missing from the pictures? Most moms I know are, but here is a fun meme that brings us moms out from behind the camera and puts US in the spotlight! Carin over at Forever in Blue Jeans is the hostess of this year long picture project; and just think, after a year, you will have at least 52 pictures with you in them! It can be scary, but com'on, give it a try! It's easy, all you have to do is hand over the camera and smile (or not, it is completely up to you!!). And the best part is, you can jump in and start whenever; for me this will be my 51st week!

So last Saturday the boys and I got invited to attend a Coyotes hockey game with my friend and colleague, Crystal. She and her hubby are regular season ticket holders and a few times a year they have the chance to get more tickets...so they took them and gave them to us! Before heading to the arena, he went to Native New Yorker for some yummy grub!

This was on our way into the hockey arena...

...we got to walk through the coyote's mouth to get to the doors!Crystal and I before the game

Here are the boys enjoying dippin' dots! They were so excited...they bought it with their own money...money they earned from their grandparents for getting all A's on their report cards!

This is my future hubby...Shane Doan!!And here are the boys acting crazy and dancing with all of their might trying to get on the jumbo tron...sadly they never made it to the big screen! You see they actually sat a few rows ahead of us...which they thought was so very cool and every time the music came on, I was able to get some fun shots! They made friends with the boy sitting next to them!

The boys and I after the WIN...that's right they came away with a win...in overtime...in a shootout!! So very exciting!One last shot of the boys before heading home!

Thanks Crystal for a super fun night!

Now it's your turn to join the fun...hand the camera over, say cheese, and smile!!

Easter Ramblings...

The week before Easter was CRAZY busy...so needless to say not much got done besides sporting events and Dr. appointments.
I was happy to be able to get baskets together for the boys! They actually were with me as I was shopping for their basket goodies when Brendan asked if I was the Easter Bunny...so I fessed up to both boys about it, but later was brought down by Ryan when he told the boys I was playing an April Fool's joke on them...and they believed him! (we were shopping on April 1st as well!) Oh well...there is that hint of wonder...one day! But I just have to say that I.LOVE.THEIR.BASKETS....don't you? My mom had them handmade for each boy on their first Easter! The ENTIRE basket was handmade and hand painted by one of her friends...A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

And since we were so busy last week...plastic eggs had to do...I think this was the first Easter that we didn't dye any eggs...oh well...

They both had lots of fun hunting for the sports themed plastic Easter eggs!

After some hunting and a quick breakfast, the boys and I headed to church. I love the tradition of 'Flowering the Cross'. Our church does it every Easter.

And since we were so busy these last few weeks, their Easter outfits are outfits from Easters past! Can you believe that they still fit??! Same style...different colors...whatev...they looked great!

After the service we headed outside to our courtyard where we played and had fun at the Annual Easter Carnival! So much fun with food and rides and games and face painting. I planted myself in my chair in the shade and people watched...I love to people watch...until Brendan asked me to go on the ferris wheel...so 45 minutes later we were finally on the ferris wheel!

After the fun, we headed home to get dinner ready for my family! We had all of the regs...ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans, rolls, and since we are such a starch family we also had mashed potatoes, corn AND mac & cheese! We make it all to please everyone! So YUMMY!

And we also had a special guest this Easter...my cousin Darren from D.C. He was in visiting my sister for the week so he came over too! It was great to see him!So that about sums up our Easter...OH WAIT...NO it doesn't...I almost forgot...while we were getting dinner ready you are NEVER gonna guess what happened...THAT'S RIGHT...we had an aftershock to the earthquake that hit southern CA...can you believe it??! WE couldn't!
The blinds were swaying, the lights were swinging and the pool was sloshing...weirdest feeling ever!!

My last few pics from my quick trip back to MI a few weeks ago. Most of you know this guy, Stunt Man, from He & Me + 3. He is my Godson and I was able to spend some 1 on 1 time with him while I was there...something that I really have not had the chance to do before! I loved it!So on that Tuesday we picked him up from school played at the park and then came home for lunch and some play time. SM choose to build a puzzle.
The finished puzzle! Great Job Stunt Man! Love you lots!
