Where Has The Time Gone??...

My boy Brendan is turning 11...11...where did the time go? It seems as though it was just yesterday when I was telling Ryan that we were preggy and now here it is 11 years later...sigh... I think I need to stop blinking!

Colin put up this sign on his door on Sunday afternoon...
...and here is the pirate he is talking about...

The story behind the pirate you ask...his dad was a pirate (in hs) and in the foyer of the high school there is a mosaic pirate head and if you stepped on it and were caught, you had to clean it with a tooth brush!! Well...Colin wants to be a pirate more than words can say but sadly we now live 2100 miles away...so this is the closest thing to Colin being a pirate...just like dad!!

Monday~60/365Monday night...LAST night of basketball practice...YAY...BUT wait...don't get to excited...baseball practice starts NEXT Monday!!

Tuesday~61/365

Tuesday night was kindergarten round up at school from 5-7pm. All of the kindergarten teachers were there to meet the incoming kinder students. These were the kindergarten school readiness kit that the United Way gave us to hand out...they were actually really very cool with lots of summer activities, 3 books, CD and school supplies!

Wednesday~62/365Wednesday we had a baby shower at school for a teacher who is having her first girl after 4 boys...she is so very excited to be getting some pink in her house!

This week started Read Across America month and celebrates Dr. Seuss' birthday! My class had lots of fun reading books written my Dr. Seuss. My fav...The Cat in the Hat!

Friday was the Spring Fling at school...Brendan was too cool to go so Colin and I went. The first pic is Colin with is best friend Alex and the second pic is of the 2 of them in a dance contest...they had a blast and came in second!!

Saturday~65/365

Saturday was the last Saturday of basketball season...thank goodness, not one of my fav sports! So after their games they each were awarded participation trophies. And now that basketball season is over...bring on baseball season...it starts Monday!

Game 6

Colin Boy is up first...

do you notice anyone that you may recognize on the bench?? YEP...coach daddy stepped in while the head coach went on an overnight field trip with his son!

Colin had a VERY aggressive game...within the first 10 minutes he had 4 fouls...and if you know anything about basketball...5 fouls and you're out!

He sat out the rest of the first half and while sitting on the bench Ryan coached him up...

...so after half time he went back in and played like a completely different kid...came out strong and finished the game without fouling out!

He did great on offense and defense


But sadly lost (again)

Brendan's game was at the high school's main gym...love it when they play here...real bleachers...real game feel and great pictures!!

Every week I see B improving...he is turning into a very good basketball player!

Sunday~52/365

In the old house it was football all the time, now that we are in our new house with higher ceilings, basketball is the game of choice!

Monday~53/365 Monday was President's day which means NO school!! We did NOTHING!! {and I LOVED it}...stayed in our PJs all day and watched movies...so awesome!

Tuesday~54/365Tuesday Colin & I went to see the Jets basketball team play & the cheer squad cheer (the school where I teach & he goes)! Last year I was the cheer coach so I love to see what they are up to this year. This was the game that got the boys into the play offs and later in the week win the championship. It was GREAT!

Wednesday~55/365

Wednesday Ryan left for Vegas to go to a football "coaches convention"! So here is my bed with his side empty {tear} until Saturday night. This was the first time I was 'alone' in the new house...sad to say, but I didn't get much sleep while he was away.

Thursday~56/365 I have come to LOVE my DVR!! I have learned to use this to record all of my shows that I would catch every once and now I can watch them at my convenience! The boys are enjoying it too...they are recording movies and are able to watch them when there is nothing else on.

Friday~57/365

So while Ryan was in Vegas, I sent the boys to their grandparents and I went out with Tiff...it's not until I see myself in pictures (which isn't often) that I really can see my weight loss.

Saturday~58/365

I was snack mom on Saturday for both basketball teams...in rec ball...it's all about snack! Well maybe not so much anymore, but it used to be! lol Capri Sun & Rice Krispie treats for everyone!

Sunday~45/365

Sunday mid-morning we met my parents, sister and my cousin from DC for brunch at the BEST family owned restaurant. This is after the eats outside saying good bye...um...yea...I am not ashamed to lay on the ground to get a fun shot!! This is the 3 kids (Brendan, Colin & Kennedy) with Darren.


Sunday was a b-e-a-utiful day...Tiff and I decided to do some horseback riding in the White Tanks...so peaceful...so relaxing...it was a great time.

What is Valentine's Day without the yummies?! I did A LOT of baking over the weekend to share this spread of yummies with my fellow teachers at school. I made 4 different kinds of cookies, 2 different kinds of breads, and 3 different kinds of diet cake.

Tuesday~47/365 Tuesday nights in the month of February are Kids Eat Free at Chili's so of course we took advantage of that especially since we had a gift card to use as well!! I LOVE their chips & salsa so before we left I got some to go...YUM!

I had to take a picture of the Valentine's day roses that I got from the twins in my class...by Wednesday they had opened up and looked to very pretty.

Thursday~49/365 Thursday Brendan had his 5th grade science fair. He (and his dad) did a fantabulous job on his project (they wouldn't let me help at all...didn't even know what it was until a few days before!) His topic was Refraction in Water (the bending of light waves through water).

Friday~50/365

Friday night we had a family dinner and game night! After our games of Jenga, Colin Boy decided to start building!

Saturday~51/365

Saturday in between basketball games I was able to sneak off to Kohl's for a quick hour to shop for some new clothes with my Christmas gift cards and a 30% off coupon. I had a time and dollar limit and I did it...spent $100 in an hour and got...1 pair jean capris, 3 pair dress capris, 2 camis, 1 pair dress pants, 5 shirts, 1 blouse, 2 belts (for Ryan) & some new unmentionables!! Now it just needs to get a little bit warmer for me to show off my new spring finds!
