Project 365 ~ Week 11

A picture a day for 365 days...a year's worth of fun!

Sunday ~ 71/365
Sunday March 11, 2012

Colin took a nasty spill off his bike this afternoon. He limped into the house literally screaming. Something happened to his chain & it somehow froze causing his gears to lock which threw him head over handlebars crashing to the ground. (didya get all that?) Needless to say he was pretty beat up the scratches the length of his back, a bloodied elbow, calf and palm. So I cleaned & drugged him up, hoping the next day he wouldn't be so sore. (the picture it after I cleaned him up...he looked a lot worse before all of the love took place!)

I 'moustache' you a question...am I sexy or what?!

Ryan was shaving when he had a slip of the hand causing him to have to shave off his goatee. He decided to leave his 'stache...something new! Thank goodness his facial hair tends to grow back quickly!

Spring Break ~ Day 1

We headed to Peter Piper Pizza (kinda like a Chuck E Cheese knock off) since the boys had free pizza coupons.

Tuesday~73/365

Tuesday March 13, 2012 Spring Break ~ Day 2

We headed to Sky Zone...an indoor trampoline park. This is the 3rd time we have been there and the boys had a blast. Once again we had free hour jump passes!

Wednesday~74/365
Wednesday March 14, 2012

Spring Break ~ Day 3

We met my parents at Yogurtz (they were having a fundraiser there today where a percentage of the days proceeds went to the American Cancer Society)...and thanks to Grandma & Grandpa...since they treated!

After dropping the boys back off at home, my mom and I headed to Kohl's for some 30% off shopping! (I had some merchandise credit & a gift card to use) and as we pulled into the parking lot, we came across these...
...electric car chargers...a sure sign of our future.

Thursday~75/365
Thursday March 15, 2012

Spring Break ~ Day 4

We headed to the bowling alley to bowl a few games, thanks to some free coupons the boys earned from school! And yes, I BEAT all of 3 of the boys in both games, thank you for asking!

Boys drool, girls rule!

After I whipped their butts, we stopped by Circle K (a fav of mine) to get slushies...

...cuz slushies make everyone feel like winners!

After all of the defeat we came home to a wonderful smelling house of White Chix Chili.

We had a houseful of kids who loved my crock pot cooking! What a fun bunch these kids are!

Friday~76/365
Friday March 16, 2012

Spring Break ~ Day 5

The boys and I went to see The Lorax, thanks to Aunt Jenni & Uncle Brett's Christmas present (movie money!). It was a cute movie that we all enjoyed!

Since the start of our official baseball season is tomorrow here, the boys and Ryan went out to play catch on this beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Monday~65/365
Monday March 5, 2012

First practice of the 2012 baseball season. The boys are in the Majors this season and will play on the Diamondbacks. They are on a team (the same team, thankfully) with some of the same boys from last season and some new ones as well...should make for an interesting season!

PLAY BALL!

Tuesday~66/365

Tuesday March 6, 2012 Tuesday children's author, Gary Hogg, came to speak to grades Kinder thru 5th. He did a great job sparking enthusiasm in the students to become better authors!! And of course the getup doesn't disappoint either!

Wednesday~67/365
Wednesday March 7, 2012 We are studying living things in Science and our reading unit is Down on the Farm...so another amazing parent brought in an incubator with Quail eggs. How awesome is that?! My students are having so much fun predicting and charting, keeping track of the temp and watching as the eggs are rotated twice a day. We are learning a lot and in just 2 short week we will hopefully have some Quail chicks!

Thursday~68/365
Thursday March 8, 2012

This week as been spirit week at school. Much to my dismay, the boys have not wanted to participate {mommy tear...they are growing up} but I on the other hand did! Monday was crazy socks day, Tuesday was Hawaiian Day, Wednesday was favorite book character day and today was twin day. Another kinder teacher, Mrs. B, and I happened to have the same skirt...so viola...twins! Tomorrow is hat day!

Friday~69/365
Friday March 9, 2012

Today was hat day so I was able to talk Brendan into wearing a birthday crown! He will turn 12 on St. Patrick's Day (next Saturday) but since we have spring break next week, he took in birthday treats to share with his class today. He choose custard filled chocolate topped long john style donuts with green sprinkles! I can't believe that I am going to have a 12 year old in a week...where has the time gone?!

Saturday~70/365

Saturday March 10, 2012 This afternoon, my parents, the boys & I headed about an hour east to go and watch my niece, Kennedy, play in a volleyball tournament. She plays on a 15U club team called the AZ Storm and they are so good that they were playing 18U teams at this tourney. The last time we saw her play was in October...I can't believe what an amazing player she has turned in to. Even tho they played amazing her team went 1-2. It was a fun filled day of volleyball.

I loathe ironing...I really do...so when Ryan asked me to iron one of his school shirts I couldn't even bring myself to pull out the ironing board...I know, how sad am I?! lol I used my counter top with a towel to iron his one lone shirt for school on Monday!

Monday~58/365
Monday February 27, 2012

Last basketball practice of the season. The little kids practiced with the big kids at the high school gym...it was more of a fun practice then a working practice!

Tuesday~59/365

Tuesday February 28, 2012

While driving around after play practice tonight, we passed what looked like a carnival that would be starting this weekend. The only thing that was lit up was the ferris wheel...the boys thought it was so cool they asked me to take a picture of it! They also asked if we could go back...not so sure about that!

Wednesday~60/365

Happy Leap Year Day!

One of my amazing parents surprised me with a yummy treat (& fun little note) this morning from Starbucks...Chai Latte...when she dropped her daughter off for school. I have the BEST parents this year!

Happy March (already) and Happy Read Across America Month

I always do a Read Across America Writing Journal during this month in honor of Dr. Seuss and reading. Each night a different student takes home the Cat in the Hat bag and does a kindergarten sized book report on a book of their choice.

Here is my Cat in the Hat and this year's journal all ready to go home for the first night!

Friday~62/365
Friday March 2, 2012

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Saturday~63/365

Saturday March 3, 2012

The last basketball game of the 2012 winter season and the Scorpions are VICTORIOUS...the actual final score was 71-8 but they stopped keeping score for moral.

Last break of the season.

Brendan has played with most of these boys for the last 3 years. They really showed their stuff this season finishing 7-0-1.

The boys with their coaches after the win

After the game grandma & grandpa took us to Culvers (YuM) for a celebratory lunch and of course concretes after the game!

GREAT SEASON SCORPIONS!!

Monday begins baseball season!
