Happy Memorial Day

Saying thanks to all those who have served, who are serving or who will serve our country...
THE LAND OF THE FREE
and
THE HOME OF THE BRAVEI know that this is not the best picture, but it is the only one I have of my dad in uniform. He served in the United States Army starting in 1967 (I think) and was stationed over in Vietnam for 13 months. He met my mom 3 weeks before being deployed....they didn't really know each other when he left, but wrote to each other the entire time they were apart. He came home in December 1968 and proposed to my mom 3 days later and were married in September 1969...they are still married almost 41 years later. He has never really talked about his time in the army, but I just wanted to say thank you Dad for all that you did do (& still do).
May you all have a blessed Memorial Day and never forget.

Project 365

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

A Picture a day for 365 days...a year's worth of fun!
I hope you have as much fun seeing a peek into my week as I am posting about it!

Sunday~121/365

Sunday we spend most of the day playing Wii. Baseball, boxing, tennis and my favorite bowling! Would you like to Wii?

Monday~122/365With it being summer vacation, Brendan has been staying up a little later and getting up a little later each morning...here are his feet sticking out from his comforter.

Tuesday~123/365
Our friend Drea got a new puppy from her boyfriend for her HS graduation! She is just the cutest little thing ever..her name is Molly and she almost makes me want a dog...I said almost!

Wednesday~124/365
Wednesday our friend (and the head football coach where Ryan coaches) had to have knee surgery, so the boys and I went over to sit with the kids. After an afternoon of swimming, movie watching and video game playing we headed to church for dinner and service! I do not envy those moms with 5 kiddos!! Hats off to you!

Thursday~125/365 Last minute picture right before heading to bed and yes this was my before bed snack...I was craving chocolate and this was the only thing I had in the house!! It was actually very tasty!

Friday~126/365

Friday night we headed to the drive-in. Lots of fun...but I will post more on that next week!

Saturday~127/365
My foot next to Ryan's foot...nice tan buddy! (that is the true tan of a football coach!)

This is what Sara says on her blog about Project 365...
"I am attempting to take one photograph each day of this next year. My hope is to be able to slow down and see the small things, become a better photographer and to be reminded of the many blessings God sends my way! "

Letters Of Intent

Foursons
Dear Dr. D.,
Thank you for taking the time {ahem} to meet with me and Colin...not sure if you remember us, but we remember you. You did surgery on Colin a mere 5 years ago...remember?? NO?? That's OK since you are a busy surgeon and all. Anywho...
...what I really wanted to say was THANKS for making us wait...not just on Tuesday but the last time we were supposed to meet {3 weeks ago} and you were called away as well! I can appreciate you being who you are and that you have lots of things to do, but you see sir, I do as well...but I am OK with waiting (maybe). Your exam room that we were in wasn't FREEZING and CLAUSTROPHOBIC at all...so sitting in there for an hour (or more) was painless...
...we found things to occupy our waiting. For instance I {tried to} read, but Colin was bored so he made it kinda hard for me...wanting me to pay attention to him and all...geesh!So what did we do?...well, of course, I had my camera, so we pulled it out and started snapping away!

And then you finally graced us with your presence {thanks so much} and gave us a few options about what to do. I will have to talk to my hubby and get back to you regarding those choices though. Please don't mind the wait...

Best Regards,
Colin's Mom

Left Overs

I sit here and I sit here and I sit here and as I sit here and look through my pictures and I think to myself...self...you lead a really very boring life!! Sad but true, especially now that I am on summer vacation (don't get me wrong...I LOVE being on summer vacation!) and really have done nothing at all this week! I know, don't be jealous, but it really leads to some very boring blog posts!! So please bear with me until I do something fun and exciting to blog about!! Thanks so much!

So as I was looking through my pics from weeks past, I found some with me in them (imagine!)and wouldn't you know that Carin over at Forever in Blue Jeans still hosts a mom in the picture meme called Shoot Me! So I thought I would share and link up!

Here is the fam after the boys' last game (a loss in the play-offs...yes it was very sad {for them!})

And this one is of me and Dawn (a friend who is not only a baseball mom but a coach's wife as well! We spend A LOT of time together throughout the year...mostly at sporting events!) I know..lucky me...don't be jealous!

Diaries of a Baseball Mom...

Game 15: Thursday May 20, 2010 vs. MarinersThis was a fun and exciting game...it was the last game of our regular season as well as the last day of school! Both boys had an awesome game, as well as the rest of the team! Here is Colin at bat...sadly he struck out each time he was at the plate.

And here is Brendan running for 1st after his only hit. Such concentration!

The coach brought Colin in as a Closer...in last inning to finish out the game and he did A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.! There was 1 out with 2 on base and he finished the game with 2 strike outs! The above picture is Colin warming up and the below picture is Colin striking out the batter! Way to go!!Look at how sad the runner on 2nd is!!...so sad he can't even look up!

And that brings us a V.I.C.T.O.R.Y.!! Onto the play-offs!

Game 15 Breakdown: Indians 11 - Mariners 6; Brendan 1-2, run; Colin 0-2; Mariners get all runs on walks and passed balls - they NEVER hit the ball and only swung 7 times. With two on and 1 out in the last inning, Colin takes the mound and K's the last 2 hitters! Record: 9-6

Game 16: Monday May 24, 2010 vs. Red Sox
Play-off gameColin started out catching...he is such a great catcher! The game was mentally hard for the Indians...not sure why...but they did not play as well as they could have. The should have beat this team...easily.
Brendan playing 2nd.

Colin batting...no hits, but 2 walks...one from him being hit by a pitch...way to take one for the team Colin!

Catching Brendan in the dugout...he was 1-3 tonight but did score and bring in a run!

They were down by A LOT in the last inning...but they came back to make it a VERY exciting finish...unfortunately they ran out of time...literally ran out of time. Our league has a 2 hr max per game...so the game ended with us up to bat and 2 outs.
We lost BY 1 RUN....AAAAHHHHH!!!
And because it is a 1 game elimination...the season ends!

Game 16 Breakdown: Red Sox 12-Indians 11; Colin 0-1, 2 walks, 1 run; Brendan 1-3, 3B, 1 run. Once again, 12 runs on 2 hits - too many walks and passed balls. Good effort though - Indians were down 9-1 at one point - just ran out of time - literally - game called with 2 outs and Indians batting. (league rule - time limit).
Thanks for a great season Indians!
You did AWESOME!

Sunday~114/365

Ryan's silhouette eating a popsicle! (a left over treat from my GDO!)

Monday~115/365 Monday was our end of the year awards ceremonies at school...AND...Brendan cleaned up! He received 3Q Principal's honor roll (all As) & 4Q honor roll (all As & Bs) and 2nd semester honor roll and entire year honor roll! He had a fabulous 4th grade year! So proud of him!

Tuesday~116/365
I was not feeling my best Monday so I came home from school and headed straight to bed...this is what I woke up to on Tuesday morning...lucky me...don't be jealous!

Wednesday~117/365 Wednesday on my way home from school I stopped by Sam's Club and picked up 120 cupcakes (that's a lot of cupcakes!) for our end of the school year celebration on Thursday morning!

Thursday~118/365 Thursday was our last day of school...(whoo hoo)...I woke the boys up early for 2 reasons...1...so I could get to school early to set up for my day...and 2...to get last day of school pics so I could blog! Brendan was NOT happy to be up that early! The things my kids do for my blog!!

Friday~119/365 My last work day of the school year...I cleaned up and put away my entire kinder room...and this was my partner in crime's last day...she is taking a leave of absence to be a SAHM...happy for her...sad for me!

Saturday~120/365 Our first TRUE day of summer vaca!! We always start our vacas with a tradition of breakfast at IHOP and then we headed to WalMart to get some new pool toys for the pool and then of course we had to come home...blow'em up and take a dip!
