Pay It Forward...So I Will!

So, a few weeks ago, Debra over at Clothed with Scarlet, held a 'Pay It Forward' at her blog. It is a really cool contest that keeps on giving!! So I entered and I won! I was very excited and yesterday I received my gift in the mail! I love mail! So this is what I got...

It is a journal, snowman hanger and daisy post it notes! I heart daisies, by the way, so I am so in love with my journal. And as I opened my journal, I found that Debra had chosen a scripture to write inside of it. I hope she doesn't mind, but I am going to share...

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

I am so fortunate to have such wonderful bloggy sisters who care and pray for me on a daily basis, and to think, I only know most of them thru cyberspace. I am truly blessed. Thanks, Debra for the thoughtful gifts and kind words. You will never know how much they mean to me.

And now as a winner, I agree to post a 'Pay it Forward' post and in turn send three gifts to three new winners on my blog. So now it is my turn to 'Pay It Forward'. If you would like to be considered for my 'Pay it Forward' gift, please leave me a comment stating you would like to be considered and agree to 'Pay it Forward'.

I will draw 3 winners at random on Friday, December 5, 2008 and post the winners Saturday, December 6, 2008. I hope you will consider leaving a comment so that I may continue to 'Pay It Forward'. Blessings to all of you on this beautiful Sunday.

I Heart Reading!

My friend, MiMi @ He & Me + 3, awarded me this Bookworm Award. I'm supposed to grab the book closest to me and turn to page 56 and go to the fifth line and type it and the following couple of lines. It is that simple.

So, let's see, my closest book is my Bible and page 56, line 5 reads:

When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could no longer see, he called for Esau his older son and said to him, "My son." "Here I am," he answered. Genesis 27:1

Now I am supposed to tag 5 people, so I tag...

LeAnn @ Tollesons 4 Him

Angie @ Davisix

Stephanie @ Baseballs and Tutus

Kelly @ Close to Home

Jessie @ J's Spot

Ready, Set, Go! You're it!

Thanks MiMi for this Wormy Award and Happy Reading!

Thanksgiving Leftovers!

I hope that all had a restful and thankful Thanksgiving! We did. My parents, sister and niece came over for some pre-Thanksgiving dinner snackies, football and the very yummy dinner! Friday, I was crazy enough to be out in all the madness, but nonetheless, I got a lot accomplished and had fun (first by myself and then with my mom!). Hoping you and your family enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend!

So... this is what our day included: me getting ready for all to come over, kids watching the parade on TV, setting out the pre-sanckies, everyone coming over, dad and dog taking a pre-dinner nap, pre-dinner games, watching football on TV, getting dinner ready, Tom Turkey out of the oven, Colin drooling over Tom Turkey, carving Tom Turkey, eating Tom Turkey! Busy but fun! I am so lucky and thankful to have all that I have!

Oh, my gosh! I can't believe it, I was picked!! SOoo...my good bloggy friend, LeAnn, over at Tollesons 4 Him hit her 10,000 hit the other day; and in honor of her 10,000 hit, she held a contest, a very easy contest. All you had to do was leave her a comment on her post and then post something about her contest on your blog linking it back to her blog. Easy enough, so I did both and I won! What did I win you ask, OMGosh, only a $10 gift card at my most favorite store in the whole wide world, TARGET!! So, huge thanks to all who played and huge THANKS to LeAnn. I am soo excited! Thanks again and I can't wait to go S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G.! Oh, and if you still haven't checked out LeAnn's blog, do it already!

"But Mom, You Promised!"

So this is the first time that I have done this meme, but as I was laying with Brendan, I knew I had to do it. My Brendan, my 8 year old, sweet boy, Brendan. As I was putting Brendan to bed tonight, he asked if I would lay down with him. I still had so much to do around the house and my beloved show 'Friends' was on, and I was thinking that I didn't have the time, but what was a mother to do. So we layed down and we prayed and we snuggled and then he grabbed my hand and held it until my beautiful, 8 year old fell asleep. While he was dozing off, I couldn't help but continue to pray over him. I know God has great things in store for both my boys. I was also thinking of all the times, from the time that he was born until tonight, that he crawled into our bed or I snuggled with him in his and I will miss this moment when he decides that he is too big to snuggle with his mom at bedtime. Here's hoping you don't miss this moment with your beautiful children.

Of course, this is a picture after I had gotten up and he had fallen asleep; my sweet, beautiful, 8 year old Brendan!

You Need to Check Out Tollesons 4 Him!

So my good bloggy buddy at Tollesons 4 Him is hitting her 10,000 hit today!! Yay You!! That is HUGE in bloggy land and in honor of 10,000th hit, she is having an awesome contest! And all I need to do to have a chance to win a Target gift card (Oh yea, I heart Target!) is to post about her contest and link it back up to her! So CONGRATULATIONS Tollesons 4 Him on your 10,000th hit; and if you haven't checked out her blog, what are you waiting for! Go do it!

Lovin' Me Some of that Not Me Mania, Cuz it Wasn't Me!

Well, another week has flown by and of course I was perfect, WHATEVER! So this is what I certainly did not do this week!

1. I most certainly did not tell my husband to suck it up because all he had was a tiny head cold. I am a loving wife that waits on her husband hand and foot whether he is sick or not!

2. It was not be that shushed my kids during the episode of 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas'. I am 35 years old you know!

3. It wasn't me that waited until my husband fell asleep to check my blog and my comments. Because he doesn't get annoyed now that I am always on the computer and he now has to share it with me!

4. It wasn't me that popped the boys' balloons that we got from Red Robin after they went to bed and then denied knowing what happened to them. I don't hate balloons and the fact that they never get stuck in my ceiling fans.

5. It was not me who did a happy dance when I found gas for $2.17/gallon and was able to fill my van up for $50.00. That's $50 people!! I can't remember the last time I was able to fill up for $50!

6. And it wasn't me driving home from said gas trip and went through an extremely yellow/orange/red light because I was also doing the pee pee dance at said gas station! I know that it is against the law and would never ever do that, especially with the boys in the car. (We were all buckled, relax!

7. It wasn't me who got super duper annoyed at the fact that 3 days after I put only $50 worth of gas into my van, the price dropped yet again, and not by pennies, but by 18 cents a gallon to $1.99/gal!

AND

8. It wasn't me that decorated the tree while the kids were at a friend's house because it is just ssooo much easier to do it myself. No they wanted to help, they asked to help and then pouted when they came home to see the tree decorated. I am such a mean mom!

And until next Monday, it wasn't me!

My Mom is the Coolest Mom Ever!

So, I am going to brag a little on my Mom this Sunday! She is a mom, grandmother, babysitter, sister, aunt, friend, listener, advisor, creator, crafter, golfer and much much more. I can't say enough about her! This past weekend she asked if I would help out at a craft fair that she was exhibiting at. She has started making hand beaded watches and then selling them, mainly just for fun! So I went and we chatted and had a good time all the while selling her watches! So here's to My Mom, I love you mom!

Howdy Partner!

So tonight the 2nd and 3rd grade classes along with our PTA and the student council put on a Fall Family Dance. It was so much Hoe Down Fun!! We danced and ate and danced some more until we couldn't dance no more and the cows came home!! We dressed the part and had a country good time! I was feeling OK until the music and dancing stopped and then WHOA the pain hit! It was a fast, but long week with a very festive ending! Fun was had by all! So happy fall to you and yours! (and dance the night away!)

What's That You Say..The Mailman Is Here?!

So Yesterday we received our first Christmas present in the mail. Yes, you heard it correctly! Since most of our family lives in Michigan, we get a lot of our gifts via the mailman!! So we came home to find a big box from Uncle Jarrett and Aunt Kelly. Thankfully the inside box was wrapped so now we actually have a present to put under our undecorated tree and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet! So the box that it came in was pretty big and of course, boys being boys, started goofing around with it and all of a sudden I hear Brendan say "Wrap me up and ship me to Halee!" For those of you that don't know, Halee is Brendan's 'girlfriend' and also MiMi's oldest daughter. They have been friends since before they were a year old and attended Gymboree classes together. I think the hardest thing about moving cross country for Brendan was moving away from Halee! He has a picture of her on his nightstand that he kisses every night after his prayers! So...anyways back to the post, he decided that he wanted to be mailed back to Halee and OF COURSE I took pics!! Watch out Halee, you never know what or who may show up on your doorstep!!

"Mom, send me to Halee's, willya?!"
Colin's thinking...Can I have his room?! When does the post office open anyways?!

And for those of you who have been asking about me and work...here is an update! I am doing well, although very sore when I get home at night. I am still trying to get my barrings again and regaining the class, but I think, all in all, it is going well. The worst pain was Monday night; I was very sore from all of the hugging. They know now to hug me from the side and not to squeeze! The more I walk, the less pain I feel, but as soon as I sit down, Whoa! The worst part about being gone for 7 weeks is hearing "Mrs. M*** didn't do it like that!" What's that you say, who didn't do it like what?! This is STILL my classroom right!! So there you have it, slow moving and sore, but hanging in there! You gotta figure, I only had 8 days and then Thanksgiving break and then go back for 3 weeks and get Christmas break; I think I planned that pretty well! What do you think?! And once again, thank you for all of your kind words and wishes along with all of the prayers. I have said before and I will say it again, You are the best bloggy friends in all of bloggyland!! But I will admit that this work thing is getting in the way of my blogging and it just ain't right!!

Mrs. B's Story Time...With a Twist!

So today at school, Mrs. B came an did an outstanding assembly for the entire student body. She uses songs that are familiar to kids and gives them a twist with her own fun versions! She uses a lot of student participation and gets the teachers involved too. It is so much fun! This is the 2nd year that she has come and shared with our school and I was so excited to be on the committee to get her back again this year. The boys enjoyed it so much that they asked if we could stay for her evening performance. Of course I said yes, because that is how much I enjoyed it! So tonight both boys were picked to participate in a 'rap' version of a song that she does and they got to dress the part! We had lots of fun...Thanks Mrs. B!
