Day Out With Kennedy

September 8 my niece Kennedy turned 13...WHAT...yep she's a teenager. This is the daughter that I never had. Ryan and I love to spoil on her. So for her special day we gave her a shopping spree that included shopping, ear piercing and lunch. It was a fun day and I loved spending this special time with Kennedy.
First stop...Rue 21, which I did not get any pictures of. Lots of trying on and finding great sales. She got 2 pair of jeans, 7 shirts, pair of sweatpants, a belt and earrings.
Second stop...the mall and lunch at Johnny Rockets.
Super yummy 50's style diner with the best burgers and shakes. This was Kennedy's first time there. She liked it!
Third stop...Claire's. When Kennedy turned 5 I was the one who took her to get her first piercings so when she turned 13 she asked me it I would take her to her ears doubled pierced.

They look great!

Fourth stop...Van's store for some new shoes.

What a great day!

Loved me some girl time with my favorite niece!

Project 365

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

A Picture a day for 365 days...a year's worth of fun!

I hope you have as much fun seeing a peek into my week as I am posting about it!

Sunday~233/365

Sunday I took my niece out for some birthday shopping. We stopped for lunch at Johnny Rockets where they have these fun straw dispensers!

Monday~234/365

Every Monday our school has early dismissal which means the students are dismissed an hour earlier than every other day. But that also means a 2 hr professional development for teachers...EVERY Monday. This past Monday they had some prizes and I won! Yay for me! $5 gift card to Subway!

Tuesday~235/365

While at a stoplight on my way home from school I was able to capture a jet landing. We have an air force base not far from our house so we see lots of jets flying. Love the mountain in the background.

Wednesday~236/365
Wednesday Colin and I went up to the freshman game for a half. Ryan always stays to watch after practice so we came up to surprise him, cuz ya'know, we don't have enough football in our week! Oh and the frosh WCHS Wildcats won BTW!

Thursday~237/365

Thursday I got a call from Brendan's teacher asking if I would like a skit performed for my class. I said...SURE! Brendan's group made up a skit to America the Beautiful. The 2 boys acted out as the 3 girls sang the song...it was really very good! I love teaching where the boys attend.

Friday~238/365

Friday I quartered 20 oranges for Saturday's Cobras football...I was one of the snack moms! And if you notice 1 baggie with no orange but instead a granola bar...that is because Brendan refuses to eat fresh fruit, so that is his half time snack.

Saturday~239/365
YES that is 4:53 in the morning and NO it was not by choice. Boys had a game at 8am which means we need to be to the field by 6:30am and since the field was a 45 min drive away we left the house at 5:35am. I was up first and woke the boys about 5:05am so they could get dressed, eat and brush some teeth.

This is what Sara says on her blog about Project 365...
"I am attempting to take one photograph each day of this next year. My hope is to be able to slow down and see the small things, become a better photographer and to be reminded of the many blessings God sends my way! "

Well said Sara...thanks for letting me tag along!

Football Frenzy

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
WCHS Wildcats v. CHS Coyotes
Friday September 10, 2010

This was the 2010 home opener for the Wildcats and Brendan, Colin & Bric (the head coach's son) are once again ball boys this year! They were so excited to do their job sporting their new Wildcat jerseys.

Defense coming out hitting.

The Coyotes are one of the top teams in the state.

We are not.

Tough game.

Ryan proud of his boys for getting a turn over

Ryan was very proud of his defense...they held the Coyotes to only 14 points in the first half.

Ryan doing his coaching thing...♥ watching him coach!

By the 4th quarter we were down by a few touchdowns so Ryan put his 2nd & 3rd stringers into the game.
The Wildcats lost to the Coyotes 42-0. It was a tough game but considering they were playing one of the top teams in the state they held their own and our defense did a GREAT job holding them. Even the Coyotes Offensive Coordinator told Ryan that his defense was awesome!

Great Game Boys
Wildcats 0 - Coyotes 42
And what's a Friday night without a picture of my 3 boys ♥

Next week we have a bye week...no Friday Night Lights...What will I ever do with my free Friday?!

SATURDAY ON THE FIELD
Cobras v. Blitz
Saturday September 11, 2010Getting ready to enter the field...lined up 2x2 holding hands.
Love the team unity

We played on the varsity field again, which is so much more fun...100 yards instead of 80. Above is Brendan making his tackle.

Offense on the field with Colin just about ready to snap the ball

Brendan making another key play

Colin getting ready to take down #10

This was a very hard game...our boys did not have heart out there on Saturday...they looked sluggish and were slow. The Blitz played dirty and not very fair and the refs made some really BAD calls, namely on us and one of our players even got ejected for fighting back (the other player did not) and I could blame all of those things for our loss but excuses only satisfy those who make them so I will hold my head up high and shout GET'EM NEXT TIME BOYS and look onto next week.

Cobras 0 - Blitz 13

These boys play for the ♥ of the game

And I must say for as sorrowful as they were about how the game was played and the end result, as we walked to the car they shouted a "Good Game" to all of the Blitz players they passed. I had tears in my eyes and it softened my heart because I was so very upset and mad, but as I heard them being great sports I whispered a Thank You God for giving me such great boys.

2 Days, 2 Teams, 2 Losses
We will get'em next time....
Go Wildcats!
Go Cobras!

Sunday~226/365

Sunday we went to my parent's to hang out for a bit. They have a bocci ball court across the street from the house and since moving into their new house the kids have been wanting to try it out...so they did!

Monday~227/365 Happy Labor Day! Ryan had football meetings, film & practice today and was gone from 12-8:30pm so the boys and I headed to another coach's house to hang out and have dinner with his wife and boys! We wives gotta stick together! Thanks Stacey for a fun afternoon!

Tuesday~228/365
Getting up for school after a 3 day weekend was not my cup of tea...another school morning another morning of lunch making!

Wednesday~229/365
Today my niece Kennedy turned 13...watch out world...another teenager is among us! Happy Birthday Keni...♥ you!
Thursday~230/365

Thursday while at football practice I corrected the first math test of the year, did grades and got my grade book ready for progress reports to go home on Friday...can you believe that we have been in school for 5 weeks already? Yea, me neither!

Friday~231/365

Friday night=game night...and in honor of 9-11 they honored military, firefighters, police & first responders. It was really very nice and the cheerleaders wore red white & blue bows in their hair. They also held up the American flag while both bands played God Bless America during half time.
Saturday~232/365
