After they ran onto the field, they went to the middle of the field, where a newly painted Wildcat is, to get pumped up for kick off.
After the coin toss and some fireworks...the game begins...
WCHS Wildcats vs. KHS Bulldogs
Ryan doing his thing...
Ryan's Defense firing off the line
Ryan and the Head Coach Hud watching the defense
Final Score
WCHS Wildcats 41 - KHS Bulldogs 14
Sadly this year there was no floats or parade. Not sure why...they just voted not to do it this year. Half time was pretty typical with a band show, cheer dance and the crowning of the King & Queen.
There might have not been floats, but we had fireworks!! They shot them off during the National Anthem, each time the Wildcats scored and at the end of the game...it was very exciting!
The field is usually painted before each game, but with the economy the way that it is, they have been not painting it this season...until homecoming anyways!! Each endzone was painted with a checkerboard pattern in our colors of silver & navy and a WC under the goal post and on the 50 yard line was a HUGE wildcat!!
Way to go WILDCATS!!!
One more home game and 2 more away games and then play-offs...I can (almost) see a light, as faint as it may be, at the end of my football tunnel!!!
Onto Saturday...
This was the first time that during the coin toss, the team held hands...
Before the kick-off, Brendan having a 1 on 1 with the DC
And the game begins...on a super hot...super early...Saturday morning...an hour away...in the valley!
Look at this view...isn't it amazing?!
The high school we played at, was an hour away, on the foot of the Camelback Mountains. The boys were so very excited again this week due to the fact that they played on the varsity field again! Next week it is back to the 80 yard field!
Sadly the Cobras were unable to bring home a win, although they did play a great 2nd half. Not sure, but they may have been sleeping during the first half! lol
Not so happy faces after the game...Oh well...better luck next week!
Until next week...

I know what you mean about late nights and getting up early to play a sport. Those two do not mix well!
But, it sounds like it was an exciting game, and I'm sure they got some good rest that day! All of you!
That is so cool that Ryan's team won for homecoming! Huge win. Great job! Sorry boys that you didn't win, but the way you play the game is what matters most. Great job on the fumble and recovery!
Hug,
Mimi
