Football Frenzy

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
Friday October 15, 2010
WCHS Wildcats vs. KHS Bulldogs

Alright...I know I am a little late on this Football Frenzy post but last week was CRAZY busy with a capital K...parent teacher conferences are over and I can almost see the light at the end of my football tunnel...but before I get there...let's get on with game # 7 for the Wildcats.

I took the day off and headed North to see the team in action over 2 hours away. I had been debating all week on whether I should go or not, but a horrible day on Thursday made the decision easy...so the boys and I played hookey from school and went to Ryan's game. And I am glad that I went. I was the only coach's wife that made the trek, but it was one of the BEST games of the season thus far! Above is Ryan getting his defense ready.

Ryan's defense game out fierce...here they caused a fumble...... which they recovered!!

This was the Bulldog's homecoming game...I bet they were sorry they scheduled us after this game!

Here is one of Ryan's players making 1 of the 3 interceptions of the night

Ryan talking with a couple of his players while Brendan listens in

This is the greatest picture...the entire defense has all eyes on Ryan as he calls in the play
This was an amazing game...the Wildcats played with heart and wanted it...they were excited...they were pumped...and they came away with a VICTORY!!

SATURDAY ON THE FIELD
Saturday October 16, 2010
Cobras vs. Hombres
Well...we made it to the first round of the play-offs...not the road to the championship, but the road less traveled! We weren't sure we could break in, but we were #5 seed in the 2nd bracket. We found out that we were playing a 2nd year Jr. Pee Wee team. (I also found out that our team was the youngest team as a Jr. Pee Wee team. All of the teams they played were 2nd year Jr Pee Wee teams and we are only a 1st year Jr Pee Wee team.)
Getting ready to start the game with a few more words of wisdom from Coach

Brendan & Colin both played offense and defense this game.
They were loving being on the field so much
In the above play you can see Brendan, #80, on the left side and Colin, #60, on the right side. They were both in on this tackle...way to bring him down boys!

This is staring defense
Brendan is defensive tackle and Colin is outside linebacker

Again both McCrakens in on the play

After the Cobras make a TD our cheerleaders walk the stands and collect loose change for the TD jar! All monies collected go towards the team banquet.

Starting offense
Colin is ready to snap the ball
They boys played hard, but sadly could not bring home a victory. This was a one game elimination game, so our season is done. Great Job Cobras! We are so proud of you!
Cobras 12 -
Hombres 22
Sooooo...I might have fibbed a little! This was the last game that counted towards our season...but we will have the chance to play in 2 bowl games.

GO WILDCATS!!
GO COBRAS!!

Glad you got to sneak off to the game. And what a game, even though I get sad when a team loses their homecoming game.

Great photos!

Wow, hubby's team creamed the other team on their homecoming night! I'm sure it was a damper on their party.

Congrats to your boys, they played awesome and I love seeing them on the field at the same time.

I was wondering where this post was last week!

I love the picture of your hubby talking to the defense and your boy right there in the middle of it! Such special times for your boys, great memories are being born in these times!
