This is What Summer's all About

I remember summer when I was their age...and it was THE best! We, my friends & I, were all over the neighborhood; riding bikes, playing games, swimming and eating! Isn't that was summer is all about?! Brendan and Colin are finally getting to the age where they are able to do all the those fun things that I so fondly remember! I was the house with the pool, so all the kids would be swimming in my backyard and my mom was the one feeding them...well this weekend, it was my turn!

It started out with riding bikes and playing at the park and then ended back at our house for swimming. I thrive on days like this! They had so much fun playing; I loved listening to the laughter!

After swimming came a lunch of hot dogs, french fries, & fruit! When all the bellies were full: more swimming and then more play at the park!

I love summer!

that looks like so much fun. i was an only child with no other children living close so my summers were pretty much by myself until about sixth grade when i met my best friend. We were together constantly after that, we are still best friends now after all of the years!! :)

Yep, summers are THE BEST!!! I so wish I could be home with my kids... I should've become a teacher so I could have summers off and play with them. =0(

I literally almost cried when I got up today to go to work... knowing they were all heading off to our church's VBS and I wouldn't get to be a part of it.

Enjoy EVERY MINUTE OF YOUR TIME with your kiddos!!! Count your blessings, Girly!

The smell of chlorine always takes me back to summers spent at the YMCA pool. Peanut butter crackers, coke, kickboards, sunscreen....those were the days! :)
Bless your heart, Stacey! I'd much rather be a tennis widow than a football widow. It amazes how much football coaches are expected to do. Now that's a job!

I love your pool! Wish I we had a pool. Well, let me take that back. We've got one of those inflatable pools. That counts, right?!! After reading this, it makes me wanna go pull it out of the box and start huffing and puffing. Sounds so luxurious, doesn't it!

Wow, wish I lived in your neighborhood. You are a very nice lady treating all the kids to an awesome day in your pool, etc.

I saw your comment on Scottsville so I dropped by to see who you are. I bet UR a great kindergarten teacher.
So you are off for the summer I assume. At least most of it. I know there's planning and prep. for next year and all.

I'll be dropping by once in a while to see what you are all doing. Have a great summer.
More later.

Oh yes, I think all of my bloggy friends are yours. I'm just getting started and learning a lot from Nan. She's my pastor's wife. Erica has been great too.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Now I'd better write something.
Bye for now,

We lived in the pool during the summer. It was just to hot otherwise!

The nice thing about having playmates over is that you always knew where your kids were!

Of course, sometimes that means a whole lotta kids over, but sometimes it may only be one or two extra.

My son's friends can eat like you wouldn't believe (some of them are over 6 feet tall)!
