We are not an outdoorsy family...unless it has something to do with sports. We are not campers, boaters, or fishermen...so in Ryan's 36 years of life the first time that he picked up a fishing pole was while we were back in MI at his parent's lake house. He had been hearing since last summer how much the boys had loved fishing with Papa and couldn't wait to try it again...so the first chance Ryan was able to learn from his step-dad he took it.
I was impressed at how excited he was and how persistent he was. Notice in the first picture how light it was outside and how dark it was in the next picture! He was determined to stay on the dock fishing until he caught a fish...
...and caught a fish he did! We were all very excited for him, but not as excited as he was!
Later in the weekend he went fishing with all of the boys, ours and their cousins, but the only fish caught that weekend was that by Ryan!Way to go Ry!

How fun for him! My dad is an avid fisherman and I know once you start it can be very catching. :-)
Now that's a good lookin fish! Great job Ryan! Now y'all need to come up to CO (and get out of that nasty heat) and come see us for some FABULOUS fishing! My girls love it too.
