Diary of a Baseball Mom...

Game 7~ Thursday April 22, 2010 vs. Cubs...it was a cold & windy Thursday evening....when the Indians played the Cubs. Here is the team warming up.

...Colin at bat

...Brendan at bat...a swing and a miss...see the ball in the catcher's mitt??? Strike 1...

...Colin letting the field know that there is 2 outs...what a loud mouth!

...Brendan in the field.

And the Indians win again!!!...
Game 7 Breakdown: Indians 14-Cubs 6 (was 14-1 going into the last inning - we let a kid pitch who never pitched before, alas the "closer" score). Boys were both 0-1, 2 Walks, 2 runs each. Record: 6-1...next game Saturday April 24...Let's Go Indians!

Game 8~Saturday April 24, 2010 vs. (undefeated) Nationals
...Colin playing catcher...these fields are so hard for the boys to play on...they are the practice fields for the Kansas City Royals when they are in town for spring training...so they are too big for the kids (I think!)...long back stops and instead of running on dirt they have to run on grass since they have to make the baselines shorter....it's hard to slide on grass.. :P

...Brendan with a pop fly...

...another favorite picture...Colin is on 3rd & Brendan is batting...Colin slid into home for another score...it wasn't at this bat...but in the 6th inning and last score of the game Brendan hit a true home run...it was FANTASTIC!! And because I was cheering...stand up screaming cheering...I didn't get any pics!! Oh well...

...and this McCraken got hit by a pitch today... :(...on the arm. He is OK... just a bruise...way to take one for the team Colin!

Sadly the Indians could not pull out a win...but it made for another exciting game...Indians 7- Nationals 9.

Game 8 Breakdown
: Nationals 9-Indians 7 (6 innings); Brendan was 2-3, HR, 2 runs; Colin was 0-2, HBP, 1 run; Record: 6-2...next game is tonight (4 games in 1 week...oye vey)...Let's Get'em Indians!!!

Wow they are really doing so well. I wonder what sport they will eventually put all their effort into. I don't think Model could play another sport being on this travel team. The boys look great. So sorry for my boys arm. OUCH. Love the one of Colin yelling the outs. LOL His mouth is not near as big as the He & Me crowd. :)

They are doing sooo well! Congratulations Indians!

I had been wondering about why it seemed like your outfielders stood in the dirt and not the grass, now I know!

My boy made a great play the other day and I missed a picture of it too, because I was cheering and not thinking about the pictures. Too bad cuz' it mighta been great (for both of us!)

Poor Colin getting hit. I'm glad he's okay.

You got some really great pictures. I need to take my camera to Josiah's games more often. But my pictures never turn out that good! Your boys seem to be doing really well and having a good time.

You can write quite the sports diary for your boys Stacey! Looks like they are having a fun season...we don't have our first game for a week...but Kaleb is ready to go!
