Easter Ramblings...

The week before Easter was CRAZY busy...so needless to say not much got done besides sporting events and Dr. appointments.
I was happy to be able to get baskets together for the boys! They actually were with me as I was shopping for their basket goodies when Brendan asked if I was the Easter Bunny...so I fessed up to both boys about it, but later was brought down by Ryan when he told the boys I was playing an April Fool's joke on them...and they believed him! (we were shopping on April 1st as well!) Oh well...there is that hint of wonder...one day! But I just have to say that I.LOVE.THEIR.BASKETS....don't you? My mom had them handmade for each boy on their first Easter! The ENTIRE basket was handmade and hand painted by one of her friends...A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

And since we were so busy last week...plastic eggs had to do...I think this was the first Easter that we didn't dye any eggs...oh well...

They both had lots of fun hunting for the sports themed plastic Easter eggs!

After some hunting and a quick breakfast, the boys and I headed to church. I love the tradition of 'Flowering the Cross'. Our church does it every Easter.

And since we were so busy these last few weeks, their Easter outfits are outfits from Easters past! Can you believe that they still fit??! Same style...different colors...whatev...they looked great!

After the service we headed outside to our courtyard where we played and had fun at the Annual Easter Carnival! So much fun with food and rides and games and face painting. I planted myself in my chair in the shade and people watched...I love to people watch...until Brendan asked me to go on the ferris wheel...so 45 minutes later we were finally on the ferris wheel!

After the fun, we headed home to get dinner ready for my family! We had all of the regs...ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans, rolls, and since we are such a starch family we also had mashed potatoes, corn AND mac & cheese! We make it all to please everyone! So YUMMY!

And we also had a special guest this Easter...my cousin Darren from D.C. He was in visiting my sister for the week so he came over too! It was great to see him!So that about sums up our Easter...OH WAIT...NO it doesn't...I almost forgot...while we were getting dinner ready you are NEVER gonna guess what happened...THAT'S RIGHT...we had an aftershock to the earthquake that hit southern CA...can you believe it??! WE couldn't!
The blinds were swaying, the lights were swinging and the pool was sloshing...weirdest feeling ever!!

I do love those baskets!

I like the part where you said, we're starch people, I think that describes our family too!

Your church does a carnival with rides on Easter! How fun is that!?
