Another Tuesday...Another True Story...
We all know my oldest...Brendan, right?! Right!!
Well this boy will be 10 in 8 days...that's right a decade old in just 8 days...YIKES!
From the time that he turned 1 until the time that he was 5 we had huge birthday parties for him...well I had decided that after 5 I was done with the whole party thing until he turned 10...well now that he is turning 10 it's time for a big party thing once again!
He was so excited...he had been planning it for weeks...he was allowed to invite 10 kids from school over for his 'sports' themed party (what were you expecting...princesses?!).
The invitations were addressed and sent...
The bouncy house was ordered (that is the only thing he wanted for his party...a sports themed one of course!)...
The banner was hung...
The balloons were filled...
The house was decorated...
The food was ready...
And the football cupcakes made...
...but sadly no one would enjoy all of the this except us...*sigh*
NO ONE showed up for his party...including the bouncy house that I had ordered...WHAT...there was a mix up (whatev) and they never showed up...so when I called to see where it was, we weren't in the books...but I guess that was a good thing since not one of his 10 friends from school came to wish him a happy birthday.
But I have to tell you that his kid is a TROOPER!! He had a few tears, but we talked him into rescheduling his party on his actual birthday (3/17) with family friends and not school friends. We have spring break that week so we will be home and so will all of our friends since they are all teachers too! So I resent invites and ordered another bouncy house (from a different company this time) and the party is set...
...now we just need the guests!

Oh my gosh, STacy. I want to cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REally, this breaks my heart, and I can only imagine how you must have felt for him.
Okay, girl, now you have to go the extra mile for his other party coming up.
Gosh, I can't believe not one kid showed.
Oh my word that is seriously the saddest true story EVER!!! Please, please, please don't tell me that you had RSVP's on the invites, because then I might have to be a little angry too. Good for him for being a trooper. I am sure he will have one great time with family!!!!
Aww, that is heartbreaking to watch, but guaranteed .. EVERY kid has had that happen at least 1 bday. He'll have a fabulous party with the fam, and next invite he gets to a bday ... you can RSVP, the not show! Payback! ;) :P
(stopping by from Once Upon a Miracle)
Oh how sad! Poor fella! Well I hope he has a great time at his new party. And Happy Birthday to him!
I think that is just horrible. I would have been crying along with him. Heart breaking for sure. Poor thing. Hope his REAL party is the best ever! cute cupcakes! FUN!
Ohmygosh! I am so sorry - that is just the saddest thing! I really hope his new party is the best ever for him!
Thanks for linking up!
(ps - those cupcakes would NOT have gone to waste in my house... to "waist" probably, LOL)
I know you hurt for him. Just gotta hug that little trooper.
Family will not let you down. He WILL have a great party.
Oh my gosh...I feel so bad for him! That really stinks.
I'm so sorry that happened to him! Turning 10 is so exciting and it looks like you went all out for his party! Here's hoping his party next weekend is a big hit!! Happy 10th Birthday Brendan!!!
grrrr. Just grrrr. It would be so, so hard to smile at those moms at the next carline, or school event, or whatever. grrrr.
WHAT! This just broke my heart.
Brendan, have the best birthday ever with your new party coming up. Happy Decade! :o)
Oh bless his precious little heart!!!! That is so sad! I can't imagine how horrible he must of felt and you too for him!
I hope he has the most perfect and fun party ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awwww.... That is a sad true story. But I think your cupcakes turned out good :)
At least with family coming you can make them feel guilty if they break his heart.
OMG! That is just terrible! My heart is aching and I am sure you were crushed also! He is sooo cute though and those friends don't know what they are missing....been to your parties!(:
Hopping over (a bit belatedly) from the True Story Tuesday link-up...
How heart-breaking for him -- and your heart must have been breaking for him! Ican't believe no one showed. =(
I hope he has an absolutely wonderful party with his family!
OK, so I was going through your older posts that I haven't read and this absolutely breaks my heart. How did things turn out? Did he feel like he had friends anymore? I am so so sad for him. I hope his 11th birthday makes up for this one.
