Happy Memorial Day

Saying thanks to all those who have served, who are serving or who will serve our country...
THE LAND OF THE FREE
and
THE HOME OF THE BRAVEI know that this is not the best picture, but it is the only one I have of my dad in uniform. He served in the United States Army starting in 1967 (I think) and was stationed over in Vietnam for 13 months. He met my mom 3 weeks before being deployed....they didn't really know each other when he left, but wrote to each other the entire time they were apart. He came home in December 1968 and proposed to my mom 3 days later and were married in September 1969...they are still married almost 41 years later. He has never really talked about his time in the army, but I just wanted to say thank you Dad for all that you did do (& still do).
May you all have a blessed Memorial Day and never forget.

What a sweet story of how your parents met and "dated." Tell him a big thanks from me for his sacrifices.

Thank you to your Dad from my family also....the picture has enough quality Stacey to see you resemble your Dad.

Ok, Stacey, I'm crying. My son has decided upon the Army and leaves in 8 days. Wow! Tell your Dad we say "thank you" for his great service to this country.

Love you, sweet friend. ((hugs))

Awww... That's a great post! I don't have a picture of my grandpa, but he served in WW2.

And my kids will get trophies that take up space at their team parties which are in the near future:)
