Diary of a Baseball Mom...

Game 9: Monday April 26, 2010 vs. Marlins Ryan was 'head' coach for part of the game tonight since our 'real' head coach (who also is one of the baseball coaches for the high school) had a varsity game after school this afternoon.

This Brendan at the plate.
And again thinking, apparently, in the field! He made an awesome catch in right field tonight for an out. It was cheer worthy!!!
Colin in the field. Colin had a dr. appointment right before this game and was a little out of it, which I will explain more in my True Story Tuesday tomorrow...needless to say, he didn't have such a hot game.
And again batting; he stuck out twice.

The Indians did not fare too well tonight. They once again played at the 'big' field and it seems as though every time they play here they loose...Brendan brought that to my attention and I realized it is true...they have now lost 3 games and they have all been on the Kansas City spring training fields.

Game 9 Breakdown: Marlins 11-Indians 5 Played a good travel team (they had 9 players, 5 from a club team) Boys did good - Brendan made a catch in deep right center. Brendan was 0-2 at the plate; Colin was 0-2 at the plate. Record: 6-3

Game 10: Friday April 30, 2010 vs. Twins
Colin at the plate; no hits this game, but had a walk.
Here he is on first.

Brendan getting a hit...single

And here is Brendan taking off to steal second! He indeed steal it!

Look at the 2 of them...Colin was playing 2nd and Brendan was short stop...but it looks to me that they are not playing baseball at all but goofing off!!

Finally Colin is baseball ready, but I actually have a series of photos where Brendan was anything but baseball ready!

End of the game VICTORY cheer (finally!!). The Indians pulled off a win and I want to mention that they were back on the youth fields...I tell ya, it's the pro fields that throw them off!

Game 10 Breakdown: Indians 11-Twins 8; Brendan was 1-2, 1 run; Colin 0-2, walk, 1 run. Record: 7-3

Sorry for their loss. We have had so many this season in soccer. It is hard when you are used to winning. LOL
Praying for my boy.

I love how you are keeping a diary of all of their games. That is a great idea. I might just have to steal it for Josiah's summer season. He would love to be able to look back and see the season all over again.

LOL, love the glove on the face picture, I have some of those as well. One time last year I was taking a picture of the second baseman and when I got home and looked at them on the computer I noticed my son in the background in some weird contorted pose. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was winding up for a pitch. Anything to keep entertained during those slow moments I suppose.

I hope your youngest is doing well. We'll keep him in our prayers.
